Our Mission

DeFusco Law, P.L.C. represents those who have suffered harm because of the wrongful conduct of others throughout the State of Arizona. We represent accident victims, wrongful death survivors, crime victims, and victims of unreasonable conduct by insurance companies. We are attorneys and counselors who seek accountability for wrongful conduct that causes physical, emotional and economic loss.

Meet Andrew and Bryn DeFusco

We are the founding partners and attorneys at DeFusco Law, P.L.C. As long-time residents of the Valley, we are deeply committed to our community.  We are happily married, and when not working enjoy spending time with our two children.

Prior to forming DeFusco Law, Andy was a partner of DeFusco & Udelman, P.L.C., a law firm that he co-founded in 1995, where he fought for the rights of those injured or otherwise harmed by others.  The practice was devoted to representing accident victims, crime victims, and victims of unreasonable conduct by insurance companies.   Andy was privileged to represent many amazing people and guide them through what has often been the most difficult time in their lives.

In 2015, Andy was awarded the highest peer review rating, AV preeminent 5.0 out of 5, by the prestigious lawyer rating service, Martindale-Hubbell, and also holds a perfect Client Review rating with Martindale-Hubbell (5.0 out of 5).  Andy also carries a perfect “Superb” 10.0 rating with AVVO, another lawyer rating service, a testament to his legal experience, industry recognition and professional conduct.

Since 2002, Andy has presented numerous legal education seminars about personal injury and insurance law to lawyers practicing in the State of Arizona, including the State Bar of Arizona, Arizona Trial Lawyers Association/Arizona Association for Justice, Maricopa County Bar Association, Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice, large and mid-sized law firms in the Phoenix area, and Chernoff’s Lawyers In Limine, a continuing legal education association administered by DeFusco Law.  Andy has also presented legal seminars to members of the public and child advocacy associations, including the Scottsdale Public Library “Ask A Lawyer” series, the Arizona Child & Family Advocacy Network, and Not My Kid.  Among his presentations are the following:

  • Arizona Automobile Insurance Law:  Understanding Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Coverages
  • An Introduction to Arizona Wrongful Death Law
  • Help, I’m Confused!  What Clients (And Too Many Lawyers!) Don’t Understand About Personal Injury Law
  • The Victim’s Attorney:  Your Best Friend or Worst Enemy
  • Children’s Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Cases:  Special Considerations
  • Statutes of Limitation and Settlement of Children’s Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Claims
  • From Party Buses to Backyard Booze:  A Survival Guide for Parents of Adolescents
  • Overcoming the Intentional Acts Exclusion:  When an Intentional Act Isn’t So Intentional
  • Dram Shop Liability:  When the Bar Has Gone One Drink Too Far
  • Establishment’s Liability for the DUI Driver:  Standard Sized Drinks and the “Extremely Practiced Drinker” Defense
  • I Love My Children, But. . . How Parents Can Minimize Liability Caused by Acts of Their Adolescent Children

Bryn was a trial attorney with the Office of Public Advocate for nine years before starting with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office in 2012.  In 2006, she was recognized by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors for her outstanding contributions to the Maricopa County Juvenile Probation Teen Court Programs.  She was also nominated for the Arizona Public Defender Association’s Rising Star Award.

As a mother and advocate for justice, Bryn is passionate about assisting those who have suffered harm because of the wrongful conduct of others. Relying on nearly fifteen years working with children in the juvenile justice system, Bryn is dedicated to assisting children and teens who have been seriously injured as well as helping parents navigate their child’s claim. Her background also assists in gathering evidence for victims in criminal cases for future use in civil cases against criminal defendants.

Bryn serves on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Center for Law in the Public Interest and New Life Center Domestic Violence Shelter.   She is also heavily involved with the Scottsdale Unified School District.  Her past and present volunteer organizations include:   Treasure House, Business United for Scottsdale Schools (BUSS), Yes to Children M&O Override PACGirl Scouts, Parents of Murdered Children, Arizona Special Olympics, North Scottsdale Little League, The Solel Preschool, 4Mati Foundation and Maricopa County Teen Court.

Meet Racheal Gilbert

Racheal Gilbert brings over seventeen years of paralegal experience to DeFusco Law, P.L.C.  She has worked with Andrew DeFusco since 2010 and has extensive knowledge on the medical-legal issues involved in personal injury and wrongful death matters.  Racheal is especially empathetic of the difficulties our clients face as they attempt to get their lives back in order.  She works very closely with our clients, from the initial consultation until case resolution, and takes tremendous pride in ensuring that our clients are treated with the level of personal service and attention they deserve.  Racheal is happily married and the mother to four children.

Our Approach

While our practice is located in Scottsdale, we represent clients throughout the state of Arizona and nationwide who have suffered loss here in Arizona as a result of the negligent or wrongful conduct of others.  We maintain a low-volume practice and do not charge a fee for an initial consultation. Our advanced videoconferencing capabilities allow us to interact face-to-face with clients located in the more remote areas of Arizona and around the world.

Because we maintain a referral-based low-volume practice and strive to provide a high level of personal service, we typically accept cases that involve significant damages. If it appears that we cannot assist, where appropriate we will provide a complimentary referral to other attorneys.
