We have lived in Arizona for a long time. Andy moved to the Phoenix area in 1978, and Bryn in 1987.  We have spent our entire legal careers practicing in the Phoenix, Arizona area. We believe in giving back to the community.

Volunteer and Charitable Work

We regularly provide pro bono legal services and volunteer in the community. Bryn serves on the boards of the Arizona Center for Law in the Public Interest and the New Life Center, a local domestic violence shelter. Andy often presents complimentary legal educational seminars on topics such as personal injury law and insurance law to lawyers and non-lawyers alike, including presentations to the Arizona Association for Justice, Arizona State Bar, Maricopa County Bar Association, Not MY Kid, Chernoff’s Lawyers In Limine, large and mid-sized law firms in the Phoenix area and the Scottsdale Public Library “Ask A Lawyer” Series.

We also actively support our local public school system.  As products of public schools and with their children attending Scottsdale Unified School District (“SUSD”) schools,  Andy and Bryn DeFusco are passionate about supporting public education.  Andy, all four of his siblings, his niece and nephew graduated from Saguaro High School in Scottsdale.  Bryn is active with several APT’s throughout SUSD and serves on the board of the Arizona Center for Law in the Public Interest — Arizona’s premier legal advocate for public school funding.

In 2018, DeFusco Law founded the DeFusco Law Classroom Supply Stipend Program to provide financial assistance for public school teachers in the SUSD district for much needed classroom supplies. Every year DeFusco Law awards at least ten teachers with $300 stipends (five each semester).  In the fall 2021 semester, DeFusco Law allocated additional funds from a settled claim referred to the firm by an SUSD staff member and awarded eighteen teacher stipends.  To date, the DeFusco Law Classroom Supply Stipend Program has donated more than $25,000 to SUSD teachers for purchase of classroom supplies.  DeFusco Law  has also donated over $15,000 to various SUSD APT’s.

Also in 2018, DeFusco Law took over the administration of Chernoff’s Lawyers In Limine, a not-for-profit association of over forty attorneys representing a wide variety of practice areas.  This association was named after founding member Mark Chernoff, a talented local attorney who founded the association some five years earlier. Mark tragically passed away in 2019 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Following his passing, the attorney members renamed the association in Mark’s honor. Chernoff’s Lawyers In Limine provides continuing legal education for all attorney members in a wide variety of practice areas in addition to DeFusco Law’s practice areas involving personal injury, wrongful death, and insurance disputes.

DeFusco Law is proud to support and sponsor the following local organizations:
